From six months prior to moving to settling in after your relocation, we have provided key milestones to ensure you are on track for a smooth and stress free move.

3 – 6 Months before moving
Documentation
Passport.
Typically allow 6 – 10 weeks from application, quicker if paying more.
Apply for the relevant Visa (if one is required)
* A key factor and a good immigration agent is required here.
* Biometrics, financial evidence and a range of other certification.
Academic transcripts, professional certificates & employment records.
This is vital if moving and will be seeking employment on arrival.
- Medical records and vaccination certificates.
- Financial documents such as: bank statements, tax returns.
- Insurance documents like health and travel insurance.

Plan your Finances
Research cost of living
- Property portals like Rightmove or Zoopla can provide guidance
(However, if you want this process to be managed a locally based
relocation agent can look after all elements of your move.) - Ensure you have budgeted for IHS, rental deposits, visas and
furniture. - Notify your bank of your move.
Open an international Account – HSBC or Barclays can assist or
digital accounts like Revolut. - Transfer funds or set up international banking services.
Be sure to check all transfer fees as these can be costly with high
street banks. - Research currency and exchange rates.
1 – 2 months before moving
Paperwork and packing

- Confirm travel arrangements and accommodation (where possible) for your
arrival in the UK. - Pack essentials for the journey – Clothing / documents and tech
Settle any bills or financial matters & notify relevant authorities - Arrange for transport at your UK airport to your accommodation.
Housing - Research neighbourhoods in the Uk and choose an area.
- Research the type of housing you will need – (rental, purchase, Serviced
Apartment).
Contact a relocation agent who can support you finding a property.
Many offer a free initial consultation to provide valuable insight.
On Arrival / Settling into the UK 
- Open a UK bank account if you havent already.
Register with a local doctor and other medical services – this can be found here - Apply for a National Insurance Number , unless your employer has already arranged.
Utilities and services
- Set up your utilities (electricity, water, gas, internet & TV licence)
- Arrange for any mail to be forwarded to your new address.
- Subscirbe to a Uk mobile phone provider.
Expected Costs
It is hard to quantify depending on which part of the UK you are planning to
move to move as well as the amount of people moving.

Flights: £1500 – £3500
Rental Deposit: £2,000 (5 weeks of rent)
